Interloop Presents Ramazan-ul-Mubarak T-20 Cricket Championship was held from 19th June to 26th June 2015 at Iqbal Cricket Stadium Faisalabad in Flood Lights. The said event was organized under the supervision of District Cricket Association (DCA) with the coordination of District Government Faisalabad. The championship was sponsored and presented by Interloop Limited to promote national cricket at the gross root level. All the matches of this mega event were live telecasted on Geo Super (Sports TV Channel) for the entertainment of general public/viewers from all over the world at their homes. Total 8 National Cricket Teams and more than 12 National & International players participated in this mega event. Mega event captured the attention of national print & electronic media as well as local community interest & appreciation. Opening match was played at Iqbal Cricket Stadium between WAPDA and So Kamal, which was won by WAPDA.
Final match was played on 26th June between Omer Associates and National Bank of Pakistan. Omer Associates batted first and made 175 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. NBP could not chase the target and scored only 138 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. As a result, Omer Associates won the Final Match / Tournament.
Mr. Abid Sher Ali (Minister of State for Water & Power) was the Chief Guest, whereas Mr. Muhammad Maqsood (Director Interloop Limited) along with Mr. Tahir Jamil (MPA Punjab), Mr. Noor-ul-Amin Mengal (District Coordination Officer, Faisalabad), and Mr. Intikhab Alam (Director Pakistan Cricket Board) and Mr. Nasir Mehmood Randahwa (Country Manager Mezan) were the Special Guests on the Final Match and Closing Ceremony. The Guests distributed the prizes and trophies to the players on their combined / individual performances and tournament officials. The Guests, Team players, Officials of District Cricket Association, Electronic and Print Media and the General public appreciated the role of Interloop Limited and other donors for the promotion and development of cricket throughout the country.
Officials of the District Cricket Association Faisalabad, Representatives of District Coordination Officer and Interloop Limited took enormous interest to make the tournament a great success to create interest in the young cricket players and the general public. Security arrangements by the District Management were excellent and appreciated by everyone. It was valued by the players / general public and hoped that these types of competitions will act as platform in grooming the young players by providing them a chance for selection at the National Team. All the stakeholders’ warmly acknowledged the tournament as it was a great piece of enjoyment for the well-being of the community as well.
